Frequently Asked Questions

I've never been in therapy before. What can I expect?

Therapy is generally scheduled once a week or once every two weeks. As progress is made, visits are generally less frequent and aimed at maintenance of the advances. Sessions are generally fifty minutes long.

The principle of therapy utilized for sexual problems is called cognitive – behavioral therapy. This consists of assignments that are done at home and discussion of these assignments during office visits. Couple and individual issues are also addressed during this time.

How do I know I have the type of sexual problem you treat?

If you have a sexual problem and suspect a physical factor may be present, it is always wise to have a physician address this concern. If no physical problems are present, sex therapy is indicated.
